Moorhead, Minn. (January 11, 2016) –Bunke Racing claims two first place podium finishes at the USXC Devils Lake North Dakota 250 in Devils Lake, ND.

devils_lakeEven though the temperatures outside were bitterly cold, things were heating up in the Bunke Racing trailer this weekend in Devils Lake, ND. Gabe Bunke was assisting Taylor fine tuning and testing looking for the perfect set up. With Gabe on the clutches and Taylor Bunke behind the handlebars, team Bunke found a winning combination.

The sun was shining but old man winter had decided to show up in full force, dropping temperatures below the donut. Saturday’s race was pushed back an hour and a half due to the cold temperatures. The green flag dropped at 10:30am and you could feel the excitement in the air for the first true cross country race of the season. Only to find out the course was a lot more challenging than expected. This grueling course took out 23 racers causing them to DNF. Cross Country is a demanding sport, riding safe and smart is the name of this game and Taylor Bunke did just that, crossing the finish line only 7 seconds behind Arctic Cat rider Ryan Trout.

Racing was pushed back to 10am on Sunday due to extremely cold temperatures dipping well below zero making the wind chill a factor. The green flagged dropped and the racers left the line by their finishing times from Saturday. Taylor Bunke and Ryan Trout were lined up together making for an intense day of racing. The snow dust seemed to be a bit of an issue early in the day, finally once riders spread out the snow dust dissipated. The boys battled it out with Taylor Bunke taking the lead followed by Polaris rider Alex Hetteen and Arctic Cat rider Ryan Trout. The checkered flag was in the air; Taylor Bunke was the first Polaris to cross the line, followed by Hetteen on a Polaris and Trout on an Arctic Cat. Bunke would go on to secure the number one Podium finish in the Semi Pro Stock class and the I-500 class.

Up next for Bunke Racing will be the USXC Grafton 100 this Saturday, January 16th in Grafton, ND.
